A man in a suit at a Manhattan firm leaves work on Friday; he looks unhappy. He stops at a fortune teller's for a Tarot reading: 'You are not where you belong,' she tells him. That evening he quits his marriage and walks the streets of New York, passing from a classy bar to a gentleman's club, then to a high-class bordello, a mugging, a pawnshop, and a diner where someone does listen. He shares his insights with her and later with others. Violence, disappointment, and musings entwine as Edmond loses his moorings while believing he's found them. Where does he belong?

The incredible William Macy gives us a glimpse into madness in Edmond, a kind of drop for the new millennium. Macy's, life begins to crumble, and he ends up falling into an urban hell where he is and sometimes rough, or abused by various sleazy characters (this is supposed to be New York, but was shot in Hollywood). Macy is superb, as more and more nutty people, and nothing has made any actor can play before it, including Michael Douglas playing a similar role in Falling Down. He is to see this DVD movie Edmond and the camera is firm in his face anxiously in many shots. Adapted from a play by the great David Mamet, Edmond is a must see for mature audiences. The legendary horror director Stuart (RE-ANIMATOR) Gordon EDMOND a touch bloody, two or three, as fellow horror director Reny Harlin did with Die Hard 2. Interesting note: Gordon regular Jeffrey Combs is one of the cast, and both Macy and Combs will appear in the next Gordon RE-ANIMATOR sequel. Macy will try almost anything, I guess. And rarely fails. He can go from a lovely game, but the seller of an aging villain toting weapons to kill the daughter of the president. Amazing.
